Myles Garrett Is Disappointed That Browns Fans Booed After The Defense Blew A Game They Had A 99.9% Chance Of Winning

Correction: blowing a 13 point lead in the final 1:22 against Joe Flacco and the Jets was in fact more disappointing than the crowd getting upset about it. And I demand an apology from Myles Garrett for this atrocity of a statement. What did he want us to do after that, cheer? Applaud their effort and wish them better luck next week? 

I hate to be that guy, but it needs to be said: Myles Garrett is making $125 million to play a child's game. Fans are paying hundreds of their hard earned dollars to cheer him on, and they do so very loudly when he and the team performs well.

That's the give and take of being a professional athlete. They love you when you're doing well. And in Cleveland, Myles Garrett is worshipped like the Greek God he appears to be. But when the team blows a game that they had a 99.9% chance of winning, a situation in which 2,229 straight teams have found a way to win, the fans have the right to boo. 

I cannot stand that players don't see that. They can say there would be no game without the players, but that's not true. The fact of the matter is there would be no game without the fans watching the games, buying the jerseys, etc etc etc. I love Myles Garrett, but he needs to put his big boy pants on here and accept that the Browns deserved to be booed off the field yesterday.

But here's the thing: I don't want to wage a war on our best player, so I think I have come up with a solution that might end better for everyone: just win the game. Don't blow a 13 point lead, and the fans won't get upset, and they won't boo you, and you won't get upset. Problem solved.

Now we can move on to the bigger problem: our defense. Our defense is failing us, and there's no other way to put it. If it weren't for our rookie kicker nailing a 58 yarder in Week 1 against Carolina, the Browns would be sitting at 0-2. Let's not let the fact that the great Joe Flacco marched down the field for a game winning drive yesterday make us forget that the great Baker Mayfield did the same thing last week. The defense needs to get better, and Myles Garrett is the captain of that defense. That's "disappointing" to me, Myles. Look in the mirror, quit pointing fingers at the fans, and get better.
